vintage halloween

TGIF Friends!  So happy the weekend is near!  Although this has been a short week work-wise, weekends are always the best!

I got a kit a looooong time ago that had a bunch of October Afternoon vintagey Halloween tidbits in it.  I found it when I was cleaning out some of my crafting stuff (the great purge of 2014).  I think it's fun to mix n match different patterned paper.  And of course I had to throw on some sequins!

What are your plans for the weekend?  We hope to see some sunshine!  Our local fire company is hosting a haunted hayride on Friday & Saturday nights and 3/5 of the family is involved in that.  Andrew is going to his girlfriend's homecoming dance.  Hopefully I'll see some crafting time.  And laundry.  Always laundry.

Enjoy!

halloween

Good morning!  The other night I had a chance to craft a bit.  I made some really cute (if I do say so myself) Halloween cards with the Spooktacular set from Lawn Fawn.  I'm really happy that die cuts are a "thing" now because I seriously cut like a kindergartener!

I wanted to make sure the cards stayed simple because I made quite a few to send to friends and family, but they needed some pizzazz!  I used a Zig Wink of Stella Glitter Pen to wash over the moon and stars on some of the cards.  I LOVE sparkle!

This is one of my favorites.  How sweet is the kitty cat?  Halloween is one of my favorites for crafting.  It doesn't have to be scary!

I'm lucky enough to be off work today.  I guess I should do some chores before lunching with my parents - we're having pho.  Yum!!

Enjoy your day!

watercolor

Hello friends!  Today is Columbus Day and I have off from work.  Kiddos had school today.  What!?  I'm spending some time crafting today, and I decided to join in the fun at Simon Says Stamp.  It's true, I do love fall ... cooler weather, leaves changing colors, and hot tea.  If only we had a fireplace!

I must admit, though, that on days like today - damp, rainy and dreary - I would much rather have a sunny summer day at the beach!

project life app

Hi friends!  Any project lifers out there?  I've been using project life for several years.  I completed 2009 & 2010 as a catch up project.  2013 was done in the "traditional" weekly style.  I didn't really care for the weekly set up.  It was turning out to be more stressful than fun.  So, for 2014 I made two changes - I'm using a 6x8 album and I only make pages every month or so.  Sometimes I just have 1 page, sometimes more.  I do what I want to do and that's that.  I enjoy working that way.  And, of course, sometimes I don't order prints for several months at a time, but that's ok too.

Recently Becky Higgins came up with a game changer.  A project life app!  I looooooove it.  I'm so excited to start 2015 ... I plan on going back to a weekly format.  You can literally put together a page in minutes.  It's SO easy!  If you haven't checked it out yet (and you have an iPhone) RUN to the app store.  It's the best $2.99 I ever spent!  The plan is to do a weekly spread - 1 ... 2 ... however many pages I need for that week.  I'm not sure if I'm going to print the pages and put them in a 12x12 album or ship them off to be printed in a book somewhere.  I'll have to figure that out later.

Another fun thing ... you can make a collages like the one I made of our selfie at the beach in February.  And even more fun - you can save it in your photo album and use it as a screen saver.

PS - 2011 & 2012 pictures are still on the flash drive.  I have the albums and cards ... all I have to do is print out the pictures and put the albums together.  No big deal, right!?

transport it

Hi friends!  I hope everyone had a nice weekend.  Ours was a mix of work and play ... the play part was much better than the work part!  I took some time at the craft table for sure.  I made this card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge using mostly products from a previous Simon Says Stamp (SSS) card kit.  The theme for this week's challenge is Transport It. We've been having some chilly damp weather here and I would like to transport it to a tropical island for some fun in the sun!

Thanks for stopping by!  ~ Dawn

welcome

Hello friends!   Thanks for stopping by!  Welcome to my little spot on the web.  I'll post mostly crafty stuff here with some miscellaneous thrown in for good measure.  Please be patient while I play around to get things set up.

My most recent project was 30 Days of Lists.  I've participated in this adventure for several sessions and I absolutely love it.  So much fun - and so many talented people playing along.  Above is the mini book I used this time.  I got it from Monika Wright.  You can check out my lists on instagram @ dmg314.  Fun stuff!

Now that #30lists is complete, it's time for Halloween!  Cute cards coming up!
